As we come to our missions prayer time, let’s be aware of how many places there are across North America and around the world where our missionaries serve, helping bring people to faith in Christ and plant new churches.
This is possible only because our church joins with thousands of other Southern Baptist churches and give through the Cooperative Program.
Now let’s go to Minneapolis, Minn., so we can pray for two more of our missionaries there: Sam and Joanna Choi.
They have planted All Nations Church in an area with all kinds of people, including Hispanics, Hmong (say MONG) and Somali. Often the ethnic groups live in separate neighborhoods and don’t interact with other groups.
Also, the church meets just blocks from the site of George Floyd’s death. In every way, this place needs the gospel.
Sam and Joanna want All Nations Church to be just like its name: bring people from all the nations together under Christ. The church sends witnessing teams into the huge Mall of America and hosts regular meals in a nearby park.
Let’s pray that Sam, Joanna, and the church members can be wise and sensitive as they bring healing and peace available only through Jesus Christ.
