Week of Prayer

The week of prayer is September 13-20, 2026.
Day 1 • Disaster Relief
Day 1 • Disaster Relief

Southern Baptist Disaster Relief is the third largest volunteer-based relief agency in North America. Pray that God will continue to call SBCV church volunteers to be trained and ready when the need arises.

Day 2 • Foster Care
Day 2 • Foster Care

Pray for churches involved in Foster Care ministry as they support vulnerable children and families. Ask God to equip foster parents with strength and compassion—and to bring healing, hope, and stability to every child.

Day 3 • Partnership Vision Trips
Day 3 • Partnership Vision Trips

Our mobilization team partners with churches to reach the nations. We also host vision trips across the globe. Pray that God would open doors for more churches to work together to reach many for Him.

Day 4 • Deaf Leadership Training
Day 4 • Deaf Leadership Training

The culturally Deaf are a mission field and a mission force. Deaf church planters are being empowered as indigenous planters by the SBC of Virginia to reach the culturally Deaf community. Pray for Deaf planters being trained and for the Gospel to be advanced among the 100,000 Deaf people who call Virginia home.

Day 5 • Leadership Development
Day 5 • Leadership Development

Students, collegians, seminarians, and church staff receive many opportunities throughout the year to develop further as relevant leaders. Pray that church leaders will learn from these opportunities and continue to grow into Christlike shepherds.

Day 6 • Food Distribution
Day 6 • Food Distribution

Many churches prepare and share meals each month with impoverished families in their communities. Pray that our hearts will burden for those who go hungry and that God will bless our efforts.

Day 7 • Revitalization
Day 7 • Revitalization

Revitalization is a process that helps a struggling church catch a fresh vision for itself and its community to reach more for the Gospel. Pray for the pastors of these churches as they lead their congregations and pray that the churches will be rejuvenated for God’s glory and honor.

Day 8 • Next Level Consulting
Day 8 • Next Level Consulting

Pray for churches using Next Level Consulting as they face the challenges that come with growth. Ask God to give church leaders wisdom in planning, stewardship, and leadership so their churches can continue to reach their neighbors and the nations with the Gospel.
