Patience. Would you agree it’s in short supply these days?
Today let’s focus our prayers on a Muslim country in Southeast Asia and on our missionary we’ll call Nancy Potter.
Nancy’s experience teaches us that missionaries need an abundance of patience as they serve. Nancy and her husband, we’ll call William, had worked in a province for five years. Not one believer.
Nancy taught health care to women in some of the villages. One day when Nancy was in a village to teach, a woman stumbled and her baby was hurt.
Nancy rushed the two to a clinic run by Christian believers in another province; they treated the injured baby. The woman, Sela, and her husband, Sok, were amazed how the Christians showed them love and concern.
Nancy and William began teaching Bible stories to the couple. Then Sela and Sok started dreaming about Jesus — which often occurs in Muslim evangelism. Soon both Sela and Sok trusted Christ as their Savior!
Local believers had been discouraged by the lack of response. These two new believers were encouraging!
Our church supports Nancy and William through the Cooperative Program. Let’s pray for them and the new believers to come!
